We would like to extend our appreciation and recognition to the members of the Technical Working Group and the Expert Group for they valued and active engagement in shaping the Global Technical Meeting (GTM2020) on ‘Reimagining Volunteering for the 2030 Agenda”.

 

The Technical Working Group

The mandate of the Technical Working Group included:

  1. defining the scope, content and scale of the GTM2020 for endorsement by the Reference Group, ensuring alignment with the priorities and interest areas of wider stakeholder groups involved in the plan of action to integrate volunteering into the 2030 Agenda; 
  2. outlining the roadmap to 2020 and providing technical direction and oversight to the GTM2020 process; 
  3. guiding, facilitating and overseeing implementation of the roadmap to the GTM2020, ensuring and improving complementarity with the initiatives by other stakeholders; 
  4. addressing any issue that had implications for the GTM2020; and 
  5. promoting the GTM2020 and related initiatives within the framework of the plan of action among respective networks of each member organization.

The members of the Technical Working Group voluntarily engaged in the group’s work, either in their individual capacity or representing their organizations.

The Expert Group

The key functions of the Expert Group were:

  1. to review and comment on the framing, design, analysis and recommendations of the Global Synthesis Report published before the meeting, ensuring methodological rigor;
  2. to give expert feedback to the thematic framing of the GTM2020, ensuring alignment with the evidence base.

The members of the Expert Group voluntarily engaged in the group’s work in their individual capacity.
